My name is Lisa Prefontaine. I teach flute lessons in the Fort Garry area at Fort Garry United Church, 800 Point Road, and have openings for the summer and fall 2025.

I hold a B. Mus. (Flute Performance) and a B. Ed. from the University of Manitoba where I studied under Jan Kocman in my undergraduate and with Laurel Ridd prior. I have 26 years of experience teaching flute in Winnipeg and specialize in all levels, beginners to advanced (ages 9 to adult).

I take a caring, encouraging, and motivating approach with my students, tailoring lessons to each individual's goals. I have many tricks to help students develop solid fundamentals in air usage, sound, and technique. I offer recital performance opportunities throughout the year as well options to participate in RCM exams, Manitoba Band Association opportunities, and/or festivals if desired.
