Here you are looking at a very rare antique round table about 100 years old maybe more. It is made of oak wood and is very heavy. This table had about 8 coats of paint on it that I removed very carefully to bring it back to its original look., without wrecking the wood. I did this all without the use of any chemicals as highly allergic to all. Was a lot of work but very proud of my finished product. This table also has large bear claw feet that I was told the people would rest there feet on as to keep them off the cold floor in the winter. A few years later a man hand carved this lovely contour and it was added for the sake to hide the compartment below where the ladies would hide there old love letters in the olden days. So this made it the best hiding place. However threw moving it a small piece of one of the bear claws went missing. This does not effect its look due to the colour. After all the work that I did to bring this table back to its original look I did not care to even varnish it. So therefore only put a good furniture oil so as to prevent the wood from splitting or cracking.. And the top to the compartment opens up with a small metal wheel that rolls along a large wheel. It measures 44 inches from side to side. This table was appraised years ago at one thousand but I am sure that with the rise of wood since then that this oak table is worth a pretty penny more. However since moving to a smaller place I need to sell due to lack of room and only asking for a firm $400.00 in cash only.
