Meet Sansa and Chai. Sansa is an approximately 10 year old paint Mare. I've owned her for just over a year and am looking at finding a new home for her and her foal through no fault of her own. I purchased Sansa from an auction last year where she was sold as a well broke feedlot mare (they did ride her through the ring). Since I've owned her we've never tried to ride her. I am unfamiliar with owning my own horse so when we first got her I overfed her and made her quite fat which her body did not like. She has since been on a special diet consisting of beet, timothy and alfalfa pellets by the vet so I don't overfeed her again. This is not a diet that she needs to be on, it's just one I keep her on due to inexperience.
She is the sweetest horse, is incredibly calm and likes nothing more than being pet and brushed. She is great for the farrier and loads like a dream. Before I made her overweight and I still took her to a trainer she was amazing! She followed all commands, and you can tell that her previous owner taught her well.
Sansa appears to have issues with her SI joints so if overweight she gets sore.
I bought her for my kids to ride, and they've lost all interest in riding so that is why I'm trying to rehome them. I also have NO experience with foals and am not comfortable with trying to train one myself.
