I have two mares for sale:
⸻
1. 7-Year-Old Red Roan Mare
I'm unsure of her exact breed, but she definitely has some Quarter Horse in her. I got her two years ago, and when I first brought her home, she was wild and uncatchable. With consistent training and many miles under saddle, she's come a long way.
She's now much easier to catch and is a fantastic horse once you've got a halter on her. She's sensitive and alert—you only need to apply light pressure to get her moving. She's more of a “go” horse but has no buck. While she doesn't love riding alone, she'll go with a little encouragement.
I've done extensive groundwork and desensitization with her. She has solid feet—I can pick and trim all four—and she loads well in the trailer. I rarely use a bit and have trained both my mares to go bitless. I ride her in a bosal or with just a halter. She's started learning to neck rein and is picking it up nicely.
I would still consider her green, so she needs an experienced rider. She's not for beginners. Last year, I took her to a horse camp where she gained more experience with trailering and trail rides.
Asking $5000
⸻
2. 3-Year-Old Sorrel Mare (Morgan/Saddlebred Cross)
I started her training this year. She picks up her feet, trims well, loads in the trailer, and is halter broke. I've just begun riding her and have been working in the round pen on desensitization, groundwork, and the basics under saddle.
She's incredibly sweet and goofy—she loves attention and will walk right up to you. She's brave and easygoing, not much fazes her. She's not naturally forward-moving, so she does need some encouragement under saddle, but we're working on that.
Asking $4500
⸻
Additional Info:
I use leg cues when riding and have ridden both mares bareback many times. I can mount from the ground, and both horses are calm, gentle, and easy to handle.
If possible, I would prefer if they go together. Price can be negotiated if they do.
⸻
Why I'm Selling:
I'm currently balancing work and school and just don't have the time to ride them as much as I'd like. In my spare time, I continue working with them and will keep training until they're sold.
Feel free to come out and meet them!
