Flynn is a black 4 year old OTTB gelding. Height??
Flynn trained but did not race and has been restarted as an all around riding horse by a competent junior rider.
Flynn has all the basics and has worn both western and English tack. He has been ridden mostly in an arena and has a solid walk jog/trot lope/canter on a nice loose rein. Flynn has a basic understanding of leg aids and the beginnings of nice roll backs. He will back up softly and transitions nicely off your seat. He does all the ground work and has done a few obstacles. He is brave and quiet around most things like flags, and tarps and balls.
Now that he has the basics, Flynn is looking for someone with some experience to take him the rest of the way to be a truly finished riding horse. He has busy feet and needs to learn how to stand still consistently when someone is on his back. He also needs to learn more about the finer points of riding like bending and flexion and contact.
Flynn's biggest current challenge is that he does not like other horses around when he is working. He is unique because he works better alone and finds other horses being ridden around him to be very stress inducing. He's likely to get over this, but it is a work in progress.
He is up to date on all vaccinations, negative coggins and receives regular farrier work. He is currently barefoot. He is good for the farrier and good to be groomed. Flynn has some special dietary considerations. He had a suspected tying up episode and should not get high starch grains. He lives on pasture in a herd and keeps decent weight without supplements.
