Most recently Zip has been used in 4-H, junior barrel racing/pole bending (not her favorite events), gymkhanas, cowboy challenges, fun rodeos, drill team, and even started on the heel-o-matic (with more practice, we think she would do well as a rope/ranch horse). She's been mainly ridden western by OLDER intermediate youth and has been completely SAFE under saddle every time. She is a sweet girl, but does sometimes demonstrate that red-headed mare attitude!

She's not fancy but she's solid, safe, and has all the basics—just needs the right person to keep her tuned up & take her in a specific direction.

* Solid in a variety of events
* Comfortable and steady under saddle – no buck, bolt, rear, or spook
* SAFE to ride – we've thrown all levels of riders on her under supervision
* Sweet and willing with a consistent routine – same horse under saddle when ridden every day or once a month – ground manners lack when not used consistently
* Housed with mares and geldings, middle of the pecking order.
⚠️ Quirks:
* Can be pushy on the ground – needs a confident, fair handler. (she's a big girl and knows it!)
* May pull back when tied or during bridling (especially if she's been off work)-shes only pulled back at the trailer.
* Was very difficult to load when we first got her – still occasionally tests us but gets over it quickly with groundwork (backing/circles) – she will NOT back out of the trailer and needs to be able to turn around– My 12-year-old now loads her regularly into an open back of half-back trailer with little to no issues.
* Has a small indent on her jaw (believed to be from a past trailer incident). It doesn't affect her, and we've never had an issue with it, but we've been told it could swell if she hits it on something.
* Does best with front shoes when being ridden hard as she does not have the best feet

Zip is a great mare with a lot to offer and tons of experience/exposure. We're looking to find her a home where she'll be someone's number one.
