Jin's Wicked Wok is a family-owned and operated Canadian-Chinese food restaurant located in Glencoe, Ontario. With a warm atmosphere, great service, and a diverse food menu, we take the whole dining experience to a new level. Our food is fresh, and we always try to use local ingredients grown here in Ontario. Our top priority is to provide exceptional service and a great variety of satisfying food for everyone. We specialize in Canadian-Cantonese cuisine and now intend on expanding our menu to include authentic Szechuan dishes.

We require a full-time Cook, experienced with cooking both Canadian-Cantonese and Szechuan dishes. The specific responsibilities of the position include:

• Preparing and cooking complete Canadian-Cantonese dishes.
• Assisting in developing and preparing new Szechuan-style menu items.
• Estimating food requirements and costs of new Szechuan-style menu items.
• Overseeing kitchen operations to ensure quality, portion control, and consistency of food preparation.
• Ensuring proper food handling, sanitation, and storage practices.
• Supervising kitchen helpers and training junior staff as required.
• Monitoring food inventory and informing management of shortages.
• Maintaining cleanliness of work areas and equipment.

The requirements of the position include:
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cook in a Chinese cuisine setting, preferably with a focus on Cantonese dishes.
• Familiarity or experience with Szechuan-style ingredients, seasonings, and cooking techniques.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Good communication and time management skills.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new menu items.

Either English proficiency or Chinese (Mandarin) is a requirement of the role, as most of our kitchen staff speak both.

The position is a permanent, full-time position located at our restaurant at 256 Main Street, Glencoe, Ontario, N0L 1M9. The Cook will be required to work between 40-44 hours per week depending on business need. Room and board are available at no additional cost, but not a requirement of the position.
