CTA Lab is seeking Laboratory Tester in the asphalt materials lab. The job requires regular lifting of samples that are 25kg samples, ability to work as a team, with a goal focus to close projects. We do not test with petri dishes and pipettes, this is not an analytical lab job.

Terms of Employment:
Base rate $18.25/hr during probation then $20.25/hr benefits. Full-time Seasonal opportunities available in-person. Start date June 2025.

Job Description:
1. Asphalt testing;
2. Working with and providing support to other members with laboratory test; and
3. Performing other related duties as assigned.

Qualification:
- No asphalt experience required, will train;
- Numeracy skills, strong organizational, self-initiator, time-management and multi-tasking skills is an asset; lift up to 25 kg; and
- Availability to work throughout 2025.

Job #2 : Laboratory Helper (PT)
CTA Lab is seeking Part-Time Laboratory Helper in the asphalt materials lab with available for 1-day weekly. Applicants who have 4-hour schedule compatibility between 12-pm to 4PM on Tuesday or Thursday will be considered. The operation is only looking to gap workflow. This position has been ideal for students or anyone looking to casually fit in a second job. This job requires general labour regular lifting of 25kg samples and ability to swiftly support full-time staff members with an orientated goal to properly reset stations.

Terms of Employment:
Base rate $17.85/hr benefits. Part-time opportunities available in-person. Start date June and July 2025** (See Note 1).

Job Description:

1. Assist with swift station reset;

2. Asphalt testing;
3. Working with and providing support to other members with laboratory test; and
4. Performing other related duties as assigned.

Qualification:

- No asphalt experience required, will train;
- Numeracy skills, strong organizational, self-initiator, time-management and multi-tasking skills is an asset; lift up to 25 kg;
- Quick learner is required;
- Swiftly supporting team members is a requirement;
- Accuracy in execution through hands-on training and supervision by full-time members; and
- Availability to work seasonally throughout 2025.

Job #3: Geoscientist Intern (FT)
CTA Lab is seeking Geoscientist Intern in the asphalt, aggregate and concrete materials lab. Please be aware all samples are 25kg and general labour skills will be needed because the nature of work and the type of samples we run. If you are not able to handle this weight load safely, this will be a very difficult task.

Terms of Employment:
Full-time opportunities available in-person. Start date July 2025. Rate of pay $18.25-$35.00/hr based on experience.

Job Description:
1. Support the day-to-day asphalt, aggregate and concrete testing;
2. Assist with some design and investigations under engineer supervision;
3. Involved in technical knowledge exchange and client inspections;
4. Learn the provincial and regional standards;
5. Embody out core values in quality testing, client focus, team work and sustainability in the projects handled; and
6. Performing other related duties as assigned.

Qualification:
- University education in geography, geology or related physical science;
- Some knowledge in aggregate testing is an asset.
- Some knowledge in asphalt is an asset;
- Proven communication skills;
- Detailed-oriented mindset and eagerness to learn;
- Demonstrated ability to work with others and to independently complete work as assigned;
- Numeracy skills, strong organizational, self-initiator, time-management and multi-tasking skills is an asset; lift up to 25 kg;
- Eligibility or intent to register with the provincial governing body; and
- Availability to work throughout 2025.
