This is a vintage cast iron wood lathe built at Ecole Technique Montreal.
This was a very large trade school in Montreal from about 1907 to 1958.

It has been upgraded with a VFD to eliminate changing speeds via belt location.
It has not been modified....so it could be easily reverted back to it's operation.(for historical purposes)
Details:
a) Cast iron construction
b) Precision-ground v-bed
c) Morse Tapers in head stock and tail stock
d) Fitted with a Teco VFD and 208-220 volt 3 phase motor which is converted to 110 voltage for use.
e) Fitted with a lower shelf to hold chisels etc..
f) Link belt drive. (rather than v-belt)
g) Outboard turning capacity
h) Bearings with grease fittings in the head stock
i) Capacity is 12 inch swing and 36 inch centers
A very rare piece for a collector....but also a very solid machine for daily use.It is in excellent original
operating and cosmetic condition.
