Rehoming our three year old male mini dachshund Banjo. Unfortunately, he is no longer a good fit for my young family due to fear based aggression towards strangers and children. He has lunged at children, and cornered them. He has also bit three strangers on the ankle (skin broken once) while staying at my in-laws. My in-laws are very social and he is not used to frequent visitors in the home. On the positive side, he is very loving and affectionate towards his owners, gives the best cuddles, enjoys long walks and prefers to hangout with his humans. He is good with other dogs and cats. Looking for his forever home that strictly has no kids; ideally a quiet retired couple with a spacious yard.

Other things to consider:
- minor leash reactivity
- fully house trained (at times on a rainy day or in the winter he will need to be accompanied outside to alleviate)
- fixed, up to date on vaccinations and otherwise healthy
- makes a great guard dog

Please do your research on dachshunds. Dachshunds were bread as hunting dogs for badgers, they can be temperamental and enjoy digging. Dachshunds like to bark. Dachshunds are prone to having back issues called Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD) due to their long bodies and short legs; they are not to jump off the couch, run for extensive periods of time or climb up and down stairs as this can lead to pain, mobility issues and paralysis. Dachshunds can live up to 18 years old.

Banjo is truly a sweet boy and it's heavy hearted that he needs to be re homed. My husband and I have owned him since 8 weeks of age. Price is reflective of is needs and finding the best fit for him.
