I built this 17' cedar strip canoe in 1980-1982 using a musical instrument planer to shape the strips horizontally into one another. It has 6 layers of fibreglass, 3 inside - 3 outside. This was about a 500 hour project over a couple of years - plus another 500 hours getting the forms just right.
The gunnels are made with ash.
It has been, and is a stable canoe, but I'm old and it is time to let it go. I hope to find a good home for it.
