This unit is designed to improve indoor air quality, particularly in environments experiencing wildfire smoke and pollutants. It uses the Corsi-Rosenthal method initially developed to reduce airborne pathogen transmission.
Key Specifications:
- Airflow & Power:
1) Fan: 2100 CFM box fan with 3 speed settings, drawing 55 watts at maximum speed.
2) Flow: Approximately 1200 CFM when equipped with the filtration system. Example: In a 1000 sq ft house with an 8 ft ceiling, this translates to roughly 9 air exchanges per hour.
- Filtration: Four 20″x20″x1″ pleated filters rated at MERV 13 (equivalent to 3M MPR 1900).
- Design Choice:
1) Maintains Airflow: MERV 13 strikes a balance between filtration and airflow resistance.
2) Protects the Fan: Avoids the high resistance of filters with a higher MERV rating, thus reducing stress on the fan.
3) Efficiency: Removes at least 85% of particles greater than or equal to 1 µm in diameter (these cause most of the breathing problems due to wildfires)
- Dimensions: Overall size is 20″ x 20″ x 25″ (height includes the fan thickness).
- Maintenance & Servicing:
1) Filters generally require replacement every 3 months, based on heavily polluted air or every 6 months when air is not heavily polluted
2) We offer onsite servicing, including filter testing with a Sensirion sensor and airflow measurements to assess filter condition and determine replacement needs. We also replace filters if needed.
