JussRecycling is a growing scrap metal recycling operation serving the Greater Toronto Area. We collect, sort, and process metals to keep them out of landfills—providing a safe, supportive work environment and reliable, bi-weekly pay.
Position:
General Laborer (1–2 Positions)
Start: Tonight (June 3, 2025)
Shift: 5:00 PM–10:00 PM (±1 hour flexibility if needed)
Location: JussRecycling Yard (East End Toronto; exact address provided upon confirmation)
Key Responsibilities:
Manually lift, carry, and load/unload heavy scrap metals (steel, iron, aluminum, copper)
Securely stack, strap, and tie down metal onto our pickup truck for transport
Sort incoming material by type (ferrous vs. non-ferrous) and grade before processing
Operate hand trucks, dollies, and come-along straps to move bulky or irregular loads
Keep the yard and work areas tidy: sweep debris, empty bins, and remove non-metal waste
Adhere to all safety protocols: wear provided PPE, follow safe lifting techniques, and heed directions from crew lead
Requirements:
Physically fit: able to lift 50–75 lbs repeatedly, bend, squat, and stand for the entire shift
Comfortable handling sharp or jagged metal pieces (work gloves and safety gear supplied)
Punctual and reliable—shift starts promptly at 5 PM
Team-oriented mindset: take direction well, communicate clearly, and work cooperatively with crew
Previous experience in scrap yards, warehouses, loading docks, construction, or moving heavy materials is a strong asset; if not, willingness to learn quickly on the job
Must be 18 years or older with valid government-issued ID
Reliable transportation to our yard
Compensation & Benefits:
Pay Rate: $22.00 / hour
Pay Schedule: Direct deposit, bi-weekly (every other Friday)
Standard 8-hour day overtime rate applies if shift exceeds 8 hours in a day (per Ontario employment standards)
Light snacks and bottled water provided on site
Safety gear furnished (work gloves, safety glasses, high-vis vests) – bring steel-toed or sturdy closed-toe footwear
