3 features that make them ideal for riding...
... 1.) The fabric Carhartt used is Cordura. It's abrasion- and tear- resistant. As a rider myself, I am of the opinion that when I ride, I dress not so much for the ride, but for the fall. (Photo 1. You can make out the Carhartt logo since it's always on the right back pocket.)
... 2.) The pants were stitched with what Carhartt describes as 'Rugged Flex' technology. In other words, when you throw your leg over the bike, the pants, despite their ruggedness, move with the leg and are not unnecessarily cumbersome. As such, they look and feel very different from the pants in Photo 2.
... 3.) Lastly, Carhartt stitched top-loading secure knee pad pockets, and these too are out of Cordura fabric. (Photo 3)
I have an identical pair, so I can say that they have been 'tried, tested, and are true.'
The pants are $99USD. Since I am factoring in the exchange rate (at the current rate $99USD is $142CAD, the shipping cost ($30US is $42CA) and taxes/brokerage fee ($14US is $20CA), I think that $150CAD is a reasonable asking price.
