A set containing five original coins struck in preparation for Decimal Day in 1971. The collection features three bronze coins and two cupro-nickel coins. Denominations include the halfpenny along with a 1p, 2p, 5p and 10p coin. Presented in its original blue wallet titled ‘Britain's First Decimal Coins'. The coins bear Arnold Machin's portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse. A design by Christopher Ironside features on the reverse of each coin—a great nostalgic gift, particularly for those with an interest in numismatics.
