This 2021 Trek Verve 2 was bought late in the year, Halloween of 2021. The XL frame is 22.5” or 60CM, ideal for anyone 6' or taller. It was ridden as a commuter for 3 years and has sat for the last year, looking at its replacement. Now it's time to clean up the garage, thin out the fleet, and let someone else enjoy this great bike. The Verve 2 Disc is a hybrid bike but can easily be used for gravel riding. It was designed for comfort and fun on commutes, cruises, and fitness rides. It has a lot of thoughtful features that make for a confident and comfortable ride, like a suspension seatpost, padded saddle, adjustable stem and disc brakes that perform in any weather.
A recent tune up showed the brakes to be in great shape, 1.65 MM on the rear pads and 1.83mm on the rotor. The front end is in equally great shape with 1.5mm on the pads and 1.9mm on the rotor. Rim's were straight as the day they were made. The chain was ready for replacing so a new one was installed and it has a quick link for easy removal to clean or wax. Cassette and chain rings were ran through the ultra-sonic for a nice cleaning. The rear derailure was taken apart and jockey wheels cleaned and greased. The cartridge bottom bracket was removed, frame cleaned and threads sealed before reinstalling. All bearings were checked and serviced where needed. The rear tire is nearing the end of its life but with so many options out there, I decided to let the buyer select the tire that will best suite the new owner's needs. From slick to gravel, there are dozens of reasonably priced options. If required, we can arrange for me to install a tire for the buyer, no problem.
The Verve 2 Disc Lowstep is a comfortable hybrid with impressive braking power and durable parts that will hold up mile after mile. Trek used an internal headset with an oversized lower bearing for added strength. It's a great bike for a range of recreational riders, from first-timers and commuters to veteran riders looking to get back into the saddle. The Bontrager anodized rims are bullet proof.
