We are looking for a Heavy Duty Mechanic!
Very busy and rapidly expanding Rental Equipment Company in Saskatoon is looking to hire a F/T Journeyman Mechanic, 3rd & 4th year will be considered. We repair and service Manlifts, Telehandlers, Scissor lifts, Forklifts and Skid Steers, on-site and off-site in Saskatoon and the surrounding area.
Candidates must have 3 years of on the job experience. We are looking for a team player, someone with great communication skills, and is willing to take on multiple tasks and be flexible to come and go from the shop throughout the day.
You are qualified to handle all repairs and maintenance on your own. Assistance from others can be provided when necessary. Must have a valid driver's license with good abstract.
The mechanic we are looking for; must be able to work on a variety of heavy-duty equipment and fix problems such as mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and/or pneumatic equipment. Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and problem solve quickly. Maintain machines, troubleshoot should something go wrong, and order supplies and parts. Must be able to disassemble, clean, and then reassemble a motor. Additionally, we are looking for a cost-efficient individual, someone who can analyze parts and determine whether to order new parts or repair the existing pieces. All in all, when performing tasks, we expect a neat and organized individual, someone who is meticulous in cleaning parts and workstations.
Our mechanics work outside with heavy equipment and slippery oils. As such, it's essential that safety regulations and HAZMAT procedures are followed as needed.
Communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills are essential for our heavy-duty mechanics, as you will work directly with customers. You are likely to work on a team, with coworkers, as well as communicate regularly with the Operations and Sales Manager. Computers are typically used for database management, Internet use, and inventory tracking. Laptops are often used for their mobility and adaptability. You must be proficient with a computer and able to use their organization's databases and inventory system. You are required to complete service orders for all maintenance work performed, returning them promptly with proper time assessments for each job completed.
