We rent out two bedrooms upstairs in our shared living space, as well as renting out a separate basement apartment. The entrance level of the building is our private office for our biology, art, and film businesses. We currently have a young male professional renting the other room upstairs, and two lovely female arts professionals renting the basement apartment. People of all ages from all backgrounds and walks of life are welcome. This fully furnished bedroom is in a beautiful Victorian home on Inglis Street, between Victoria and Bland Streets. The room includes wall to wall carpeting, a comfortable double bed and antique dresser, desk and wooden chair, easy chair and footstool, lamps, ample closet space with shoe rack and hangers. There is art on walls that can be exchanged for your own to suit your taste. Towels, sheets, blankets, and pillows are all provided. The bedroom has a sunny window with a great 4th story view of the garden and Halifax's South End. High-speed wireless internet (WiFi) included. All other basic utilities are also included in the rent. Shared use of common areas on two floors includes fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, your own half fridge with 4.4 cubic ft space with a cupboard for storage of dry goods (both located outside the kitchen in another room), large living room with a Vermont Casting wood stove and large screen AV set-up for movie viewing (no cable TV), large dining room, large full bathroom with antique bathtub and state-of-the-art washer and drier (no extra charge), full bathroom with shower on the top floor near the bedrooms. Backyard patio and garden are also shared with everyone who lives in the house including the basement apartment tenants (shared BBQ and patio furniture). This is a supportive, friendly, and clean household with a working professional couple (owners), fellow upstairs housemate, and two long term tenants in the basement apartment who also enjoy the backyard. On holidays our mature and helpful 24-year-old son and fiancé also visit. We are looking for a housemate who is clean, quiet, friendly, environmentally conscious, and helps with shared, light chores to keep this a GREAT place to live. Specifically, we are looking for someone who will wash their dishes and help keep the kitchen clean, do their share in taking out the garbage and compost, sorting the recycling, vacuuming the common areas every 2 weeks, and take turns in cleaning the bathrooms on a regular basis. We are looking for an emotionally mature housemate. This is a clean, spacious, and lovely place to live and we want to keep it that way with a conscientious, respectful housemate who is good at living in a shared home.
