This Happy Trails Kid Carrier from MEC is an amazing backpack carrier for toddlers through to little kids. It has a storage pouch, detachable backpack and very well designed detachable rain awning that allows your kid to see out. The metal frame allows you to put the backpack down upright with the kid seated inside. It has a waist strap and lots of strap adjustment points to make it very comfortable. The newest version at MEC is selling for $350. Mine is in great shape.
