I'm a mature adult offering flexible child care in your home.

I've been a room leader in daycare centres, a head teacher in preschool, a developmental aide for children with autism, and I ran a dayhome for 5 years.

Qualifications:
-level 2 in Early Childhood Education from MRC (that's how old I am ;)
-certificate in Children's Mental Health from MRU
-"Brain Story" certification (i.e., I am trauma-informedht; see details here: https://www.albertafamilywellness.org/training/)
-current child CPR and First Aid
-current police check with vulnerable sector search
-references are available

I take a compassionate, gentle, and kind approach to caring. I believe that children are their own people and should be encouraged to explore their own interests and strengths; I feel that the adult's role is as steward, protector, and facilitator of individual and diverse expression and growth.

I'm very socially progressive and a bit of a 'hippy,' you might say. I am also certified in multiple forms of energy healing (just so you know what kind of soul you're dealing with ;)

Children respond very well to me, and I to them. I am able to smoothly 'run the show' while respecting, addressing, and appreciating all levels of needs.

Rates are dependent on details such as location, number and ages of children, hours and duties required, etc.

I love animals (in fact, I am vegan); animal care may result in a higher rate.

I'm happy to drive children to and from school and other programming.

Screen time will be very limited, if allowed. Of course, we will work together on all details. :)
I also write children's books and am a big fan of reading to kids and supporting early literacy.

Light housework will be considered. (Of course, I ensure that, with your child(ren)'s help, we will take care of any messes we make :)
