The obverse features the young portrait of Queen Victoria facing left, with the inscription "VICTORIA D:G: BRITANNIAR: REGINA F:D:". The reverse displays the denomination "4" within a wreath, topped by a crown. These coins were originally intended for use in British colonies, particularly in the Caribbean, but also circulated in the United Kingdom. The 1854 issue is part of the broader series minted from 1836 to 1887.
