Second generation Blue Heeler x Chow Chow puppies available May 31. We fondly call this mix Cow Chows.

Pups are raised on our hobby farm in Vernon and have been well socialized to people, the parents, and small kids.

Both parents are on site to meet and are our family pets. We also have photos of all four grandparents, some of the parents' siblings, and all 8 pups from our first litter to share. Some are available on Instagram @BCCowChow

This is our second and final litter. Both parents have been DNA tested for responsible breeding and are not carriers for anything concerning.

There are 5 girls and 2 boys available. Families will select their puppies in order that deposits were recieved starting May 21. We find that waiting as long as possible to choose your puppy gets you the best match, as their little personalities start to set in after 6 weeks old.

The pups have great temperaments and could have working farm dog potential with the right training. Both parents, especially mom, have herding instincts. The paternal grandparents were working farm dogs - Blue Heelers are herders and Chow Chows are guardians.

We love this mix because they are generally calm and happy to couch potato at home, but also have the energy to go for hikes, runs, and other fun activities. Some of the puppies lean more toward the blue heeler temperament and will need daily running (e.g. dog park, throw ball, actual herding work), but are no where near as hyper as other herding breeds. The puppies than lean more toward the chow chow temperament are less energetic and very devoted and protective of their family. The parents are both a good mix of both breeds.

All pups are double coated and have a seasonal shed twice a year. The rest of the time their coats are very low maintenance and do not require regular brushing and washing. They are also very soft and snuggly. Double coats should never be trimmed, so we do not recommend professional grooming. Some of the puppies have longer coats than others.

Adoption includes vet check, first shots, and a goody bag including a blanket that smells like mom and their litter mates and some of their food.
