he HM2EQ - Hammer from A-Designs is a two-channel hybrid-tube 3-band EQ well suited for tracking, mixing and mastering. Each of the three bands offer fixed frequency settings with overlapping frequencies and a ±12 dB cut/boost. The self-adjusting "Q" is controlled by the amount of gain applied and the dynamics and frequency content of the program material. This feature allows the Hammer to "move with the music" and provides a very musical sound. Additionally, the EQ section offers a low-cut filter at 84 Hz and a high-cut filter at 8 kHz.

The Hammer is ideal for warming up tracks, even without engaging the EQ. A pair of carefully selected 12AT7 tubes passes 2nd order harmonics to the signal, while advanced circuitry removes unwanted noise. The Hammer is designed with a retro-modern look and features a black, custom-milled aluminum faceplate, brushed aluminum knobs, a heavy-duty Carling toggle power switch, and a large blue jewel power indicator lamp. The HM2EQ Hammer ships with a standard IEC power cord.
