Job Description:
McKnight Enterprises Ltd. is a construction company based out of Red Deer County who performs a portfolio of projects diverse in location, size, and complexity. We are currently looking for reliable and motivated truck drivers to join our team.
Responsibilities:
• Safely operate a commercial truck to transport goods and materials to and from specified locations
• Loading and unloading trucks, Securing cargo and dealing with hazardous materials safely
• Complete all necessary paperwork, such as load tickets, mileage/fuel logs, and incident reports
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure its safety and proper functioning
• Conducting daily vehicle inspections and reporting any problems
• Follow all traffic laws and regulations while driving, including maintaining a safe following distance and obeying speed limits
• Communicate with site foreman, other drivers, and customers to coordinate pick-up and delivery schedules
• Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding vehicle maintenance, cleanliness, and appearance
• Complying with company and government regulations and rules
Requirements:
• Please note that this position requires a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a truck driver in a commercial setting
• Proficiency in operating heavy equipment, such as loaders or other machinery, for loading and unloading cargo
• Strong knowledge of commercial driving regulations and safety protocols
• Basic automotive repair skills to handle minor issues that may arise during transportation
• Familiarity with various types of freight and their handling requirements
• We are a COR certified company and will require a drivers abstract.
