Adult Hascap plants
About 30 extra bushes for sale to thin out the ranks in my garden $50 each or $400 for 10 plants
First 5 years they grow very slowly , so I planted them too thick. Aurora , Borealis , Tundra varieties. They are about 8-10 years old. $50 each plant.
Haskap have their own unique taste, color and texture. They have very tiny seeds that can be eaten with the berry. The taste has been described as tart/sweet and juicy, like a raspberry. They have a powdery blue skin, like a blueberry but the skin is quite thin and melts in your mouth.

Haskap has long been known by the ancient Japanese as, “The fruit of Life longevity and Fruit of vision”.
This fruit is high in Vitamin C and A along with high fibre and potassium.
This chart shows the ORAC values for several berries common in Saskatchewan.

Haskap berries have an extremely high ORAC value and specifically they have high levels of Anthocyanins, Poly Phenols and Bioflavanoids.

Plants should be planted 3”-6” below the top of the root ball
If you are planning on mechanically harvesting plants should be in a raised bed
Water immediately after planting
Can use plastic mulch to reduce weeds
Harvest is usually last couple of days in June until the middle of July
The berries should be fully purple all the way through
Fruit does not ripen after picking
Haskap has an extremely low retention value to the bush – they easily fall off
Try putting tarps under plant and shake bush to harvest

I have 10-15 Bushes for sale .They were about 1 meter high and about the same in diameter , but last summer I cut them signiffically to ``renew the branches so now they not so big , but they will be very soon , as they already have a very developed root system abd growing new branches . I would suggest to bring some boxes or buckets to save as much as possible roots on them .
I planted them too tight in 2 rows. I want to remove one row to make more room between bushes. They are about 10 year old , so you will enjoy some berries even this summer and more and more every next summer. It is better to plant them right now , because they in March wake up and start blooming in April right after frost gone. They don't suffer from ANY frost ! I saw them blooming when temperature was -7C and they brought lots of the tastiest berries EVERY SINGLE YEAR !

Pruning should be undertaken in late winter or early spring. (I already did it )
You should mainly thin out older branches when the bush gets too dense.
Never remove more that 25% of a bush in any year.
Haskap does not sucker so you won't have to worry about that.
If mechanically harvesting may need to prune lower branches to train bush to grow upright.
Properly maintained trees should last a lifetime
