An Original WW1 CEF Pattern 16 Web Dismounted Backpack, service number is inscribed on the one side panel, from that research were able to get his name and full 72 pages of his military records. Name is Anthony Gallant, born August 26,1897, Egmond Bay P.E.I, single, signed up March2, 1916 at 19 yrs of age. Assigned to the 105th Battalion, embarked Halifax on H.M.T of Britain July 15th 1916, disembarked Liverpool July 25 1916. Transferred to the 14th Battalion December 13, 1916 Witley Camp. Wounded August 15th 1917 G.S.W. Left Hand at Loose France by shrapnel, injury on thumb and had to be Disability Permanent, to be placed in Catagory “E” Discharged from the Service as Medically Unfit. Backpack in extremely good condition, all leather straps present and in supple condition, all webbing and brass present and all stitching tight. All of his military paperwork to accompany the pack, a wonderful piece of C.E.F military history.
