Overview
We are seeking a skilled Taper to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in drywall finishing and be proficient in applying tape and joint compound to create a smooth surface for painting. This role requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. The Taper will play a crucial role in ensuring high-quality finishes on various construction projects.
Duties
• Apply tape and joint compound to drywall seams and corners to achieve a smooth finish.
• Sand and prepare surfaces for painting, ensuring all imperfections are addressed.
• Read and interpret blueprints to understand project specifications and requirements.
• Collaborate with carpenters and other construction professionals to ensure seamless integration of finishes.
• Perform caulking around windows, doors, and other openings as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
• Assist with other maintenance person tasks as required, contributing to overall project completion.
Experience
• Proven experience in construction painting and drywall finishing is an asset .
• Familiarity with blueprint reading is asset
• Background as a maintenance person or carpenter is a plus, providing additional skills for the role.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work consistently.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.
