I've used this easel to photograph artists' works for art documentation and reproduction for almost twenty years. It has seen a lot of paintings but was never used to create a painting though there is some paint transfer from some artists' works that may have been done with oil paints. The back measures 20 x 40". The back contains a small, two compartment sliding drawer and the easel back can be "laid down" to allow it to convert into a sort of table. It's made of oak by Jack Richeson and is part of this manufacturer's "BEST" series of easels. I purchased this from Colours when they were on 107 Ave.

My studio partner joked that it's important to note that while I photographed this easel outside it's not designed to be used as a plein air easel. It is cumbersome and likely weighs around 60lbs and while it can be disassembled for easier transport it doesn't collapse while assembled.

There are some parts of this easel that are missing though everything that you see pictured is included:

- 1 x cotter pin (2 are used to pin the drawer in place when it is used in easel orientation)
- The clamp-y arm thing that attaches to the hinge at the top of the back platform and has another piece that slides to clamp a painting to the front face for greater stability. Work pieces still sit every steadily without this but you aren't able to tilt the easel back fully vertical without risk of the work piece falling forward. A Jack Richeson dealer or Jack Richeson themselves may be able to source these parts for you
- The plastic/rubber glides on the bottoms of the feet have hardened and broken off. I've used this easel mostly on carpet so it sits fine without these glides. I can replace these glides for you with something similar or with felt if you intend to use the easel on a polished concrete floor.
