Jostaberry (Yoosta-berry) is a gooseberry and currant cross that is very shade tolerant (still needs a bit of sunlight). The rich berry taste is reminiscent of the sweetness of gooseberry with a touch of black currant. Deep-red, almost-black fruit is high in vitamin C and forms in large clusters, ideal for juices, jams and jellies, and fresh-eating. very cold-hardy plants are long-lived, thornless, and productive once established.
