As jesus describes in the bible to all of humanity that the most important commandment should always most importantly be;
"love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind." Amongst that being first he then states that the second most important commandment shall be
"love your neighbor as yourself,"
So these two commandments are essential in accordance to the law.

The commandments are for all to follow. All are given the opportunity to repent for our sins and transgressions. The only way to be forgiven is to trully repent, to mean it and to accept and acknowledge your sin(s) and change your direction. Also because of Jesus sacrifice on the cross for our sins we are made right with the father our God in heaven. Jesus was wrongfully tortured and crucified as he was perfect and without sin(s) on calvary for his love for us and the love and to glorify the father in heaven. Jesus indeed suffered so we wouldn't have to suffer for our sins.
Therefore because of Jesus sacrifice without sin, he gave all of us believers the free gift of salvation.
