BEAT TIME (1967) Bootles pinball machine.
Has been out of use for a few years and definitely needs some TLC for the right person it could be gold. Have seen some upwards of 10k online so make me an offer!
In 1967 the Beatles were the most popular band in America. For this reason, pinball machine manufacturer Williams wanted to launch a pinball machine with The Beatles in the same year. The pinball machine is called "Beat Time" and the fictitious band "The Bootles" is depicted on the back glass. The pinball machine should test the market and so 2800 devices were produced. Later the name of the Beatles should be used. But the Beatles did not agree to the use of the name and the negotiations failed.
Nevertheless the Beat Time Flipper is very popular with many Beatles and music fans today.
Even though the figures on the baking glass are very similar to the Beatles, other well-known bands have been incorporated into the pinball machine. On the playing surface you can find hints about the Rolling Stones, Young Bloods and the Ventures. The playing surface is also equipped with two slingshots, two standup targets, one rotating target and five pop bumpers. The pinball machine was designed by Steve Kordek and the artistic realization was done by Jerry Kelley. The pinball can be played alone or with another person.
