About McLaren Machines
McLaren Machines is on a mission to make housing more affordable by empowering small construction and manufacturing businesses. We import and distribute equipment like CNC routers and fiber lasers, and now we're building a platform for builders to efficiently access the resources they need—whether that's administrative support, materials, equipment, or labor.

We're hiring our first software developer to help bring this vision to life. You'll be joining early and playing a central role in shaping the product, direction, and technical foundation of the platform.

What You'll Do
Build the MVP: Launch the first version of a project and job management platform that helps builders:

Generate quotes and invoices

Calculate profitability

Track scope of work and milestones

Collect deposits and process payments upon completion

Convert quotes into structured job orders with labor, material, and equipment breakdowns

Quickly launch new tools: Create various types of web apps, such as freelance platforms or product marketplaces, using AI-assisted coding tools like Claude, GPT-4, or GitHub Copilot.

Test and evolve: Continuously experiment with new ideas, test them with real users, and pivot quickly based on feedback from the field.

Work directly with customers: Understand the needs of builders and fabricators, and build solutions that support them day-to-day.

Own the stack: Lead the selection and development of the platform's technologies and infrastructure.

What We're Looking For
Full-stack developer with 3 years of experience building web applications end-to-end.

Able to move fast, prioritize practical solutions, and ship iteratively.

Experienced with AI-assisted coding tools (Claude, Copilot, GPT-4, etc.).

Resilient and adaptable—comfortable pivoting direction when feedback or results call for it.

Curious about the user experience in construction and manufacturing environments.

Bilingual (French/English) preferred.

Bonus: Experience building or using freelance marketplaces, quoting tools, or platforms in the trades.
