Hello parents, my name is Daniel and I am an OCT certified teacher currently teaching in Ontario schools. I have been teaching and tutoring for over 10 years in all grade divisions.

I am offering online only tutoring sessions at this time using Google Classroom and Google Meet.

4) Google Classroom: A personalized Google classroom will be created to allow parents to track all activities completed during sessions.

5) Feedback: I provide instant grades, tips and feedback to help your child improve class after class. I also provide feedback and a breakdown after each lesson to parents via text message or WhatsApp, explaining what has been covered along with student grades and progress.

6) Flexibility: I am willing to accommodate a consistent day and time to teach your child. Unlike other tutors, I understand life happens and will never charge you if a class is missed. I am happy to reschedule a missed lesson at your convenience.

7) Technology: I firmly believe not all students learn from pen and paper activities. As your child's tutor, I will incorporate technology into teaching key concepts.

8) Interactive whiteboard: Students will be learning on an interactive whiteboard which includes digital pens, erasers, shapes, etc.

9) Parent reminders of upcoming lessons: I provide a reminder via text message or a WhatsApp message the day before a lesson as a reminder to parents.

10) Inclusive environment: I provide an inclusive environment for students to learn. I understand that students may feel nervous and I try my best to help students feel comfortable and excited to participate in upcoming sessions.

11) Multiple Subjects: I am unique as a tutor because I offer teaching of multiple subjects within the same 1 hour session. For example, you may select half hour of English and half hour of Math for your child.

My Language Arts/English program consists of the follow:

1) Vocabulary: Each week students will be taught 5 new vocabulary words. Students will also write a sentence using each new weekly vocabulary word. A vocabulary list will be updated regularly on Google Classroom to allow each student to refer back to the vocabulary words learned in class at any time.

2) Writing (Paragraph writing, novel studies, essay writing, word study for primary grades):

Students will be taught how to write a paragraph and include all necessary and required parts of a paragraph including topic sentence, the developing details and concluding sentence.

Students will be taught a variety of writing styles including persuasive, expository, creative, opinion and argumentative. I grade, correct and provide instant feedback to students and parents on ways to improve. Each student will complete 3-4 sessions on each writing style.

For older grades, I teach students how to correctly develop an effective thesis statement
including the topic, the claim and the major points. Once a thesis statement is mastered I will teach your child how to properly write an essay including proper citation of scholarly references used. Upon completion of writing an essay, I will grade and provide feedback/tips on how to improve.

3) Grammar: Grammar lessons will be provided based on your child's grade level. I provide instant feedback and provide parents with a grade for each grammar lesson covered. For example, in grade 8, the first grammar unit will begin with parts of speech.

4) Reading Comprehension: During our sessions, I will provide lessons on developing and building reading comprehension. Students will read selected grade level articles or books. Upon completion of the reading, I will provide an assessment using both written and oral follow up questions. Once again, I will grade and provide feedback to parents.

5) Assignment help - I am able to assist with any activities/assignments that your child has from school. Please notify me 24 hours before class and upload the assignment to allow me time to review.

My Mathematics program consists of the follow:

1) I will ask parents each week which topic is being completed in class by your child. I provide math lessons based on the topic they are currently learning in school. I teach the concepts first using technology and providing a visual representation for each student. Next, using an interactive whiteboard I provide a detailed teaching of the concept being taught during that session. Students are able to observe and ask questions along the way. Finally, students complete follow up questions that I will grade and provide feedback to both the student and parents.

*During our math sessions I use an interactive whiteboard that your child will be writing on. This allows me to provide instant feedback to them and assist them as required.

2) Assignment help: I am able to assist with any activities/assignments that your child has from school. Please notify me 24 hours before class and upload the assignment to allow me time to review.

Pricing: *Pricing is firm*

Option 1: $40 per hour - includes all discussed above

OR

Option 2: $50 per hour - includes all discussed above as well as providing homework. Not only do I provide homework after each class, I also mark and provide feedback directly on Google Class. This allows additional time for your child to practice reading, writing and math concepts to further stimulate educational growth.
