This is a Motorola model 61T23 table top radio - it is NOT a reproduction. It was made by Galvin Manufacturing Corporation of Chicago, Illinois in 1942. The radio covers the entire AM band from 540 to 1700 kilocycles. There are five push buttons for the original AM band (540 to 1600 kc.); they can be programmed at the back of the receiver with a flathead screw driver. The radio also picks up short wave stations on the 49, 31 and 25 metre bands. It has a three position tone control. The radio dial is illuminated by two bulbs. The cabinet is walnut (not plastic!). The radio has six vacuum tubes (one more than was typical in those days) and a six inch speaker as well as built-in loop and short wave antennas. There are terminals for an external antenna and a ground wire. I have replaced the grill cloth and the AC line cord (the plug is vintage). This radio works GREAT - on a good reception night the AM band is alive with signals from six provinces and more than a dozen states. It is also a handsome piece of antique furniture.
