I have two 8 string lap steels guitars I would like to trade for an 8 string square neck resonator guitar, or if you'd like to buy, they are $400.00 each. I have a Melbert lap steel and a Boen lap steel. Both are USA hand made guitars. Boen was a company that built pedal steels guitars and lap steels back in the 1990's. Melbert lap steels are still active and building lap steels in Tennessee. Check out their web site. The Melbert has a George Ls pick up. The Boen has been retrofitted with a new bridge and nut and all electronics are new. Bridge and nut are custom made by rukavina guitars - check out their website. It has a Lollar chicago steel pick up. Check out the lollar pickups website too! Jason Lollar builds custom pick ups. It was a 10 string and is now an 8. Both have upgraded tuners and the Melbert has brass bridge and nut. The modifications on the Boen were done by a professional luthier. I have a 10 string lap steel and never play the 8's anymore, hence my interest in a trade. The square neck resonators have a higher price point in the used guitar market - thats why its a two for one trade. I'm only interested in a trade for an 8 string square neck resonator, not six. Something like a 2 or 3 year old Gold Tone PBS model would be good, or a James Adams. If you would like to buy I'd sell for $400.00 each.
