Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Researcher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough research, analyzing data, and presenting findings to support various projects. This role is a 10 week Canada Summer Job with tentative start date of May 1, 2025. As this position is offered through Canada Summer Jobs (pending final approval) , applicants must be under the age of 30 and legally entitled to work in Canada with a valid social insurance number.
Responsibilities
Conduct extensive literature reviews and gather relevant data from various sources.
Analyze and interpret quantitative and qualitative data to draw meaningful conclusions.
Prepare detailed reports and presentations summarizing research findings.
Collaborate with team members to develop research methodologies and project plans, preparing databases, inventories.
Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in research and using them for the project.
Assist in the development of proposals for new research initiatives and projects.
Disseminate research outputs and projects using various media outlets and events.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Business).
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex research reports.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear presentation of findings.
Proficiency in research methodologies and statistical analysis tools.
Familiarity with academic databases and online research platforms.
Attention to detail, respectfulness, and strong organizational skills.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
Stakeholder and prospect research and communication
Experience in using of social media for research and dissemination or content creation.
Familiarity with anti-racism (Anti-Black Racism), immigration, or social justice issues.
Closeness to Waterloo might be advantageous
