Very beautiful framed art of a LOON by First Nation artist Gelineau Fisher (1951-2015). Picture is signed by the artist and dated 1997.
Frame measures 20 ½ x 16 x 1 ½” (52 x 41 x 3cm). Actual picture measures 10 ½ x 8 ½” (7 x 21cm).
Gelineau was an Anishinaabe Ojibwe Traditional Woodlands Artist. Born in 1951 in Northwestern Ontario and was a Member of Long Lake 58 First Nation.
He was taught by nature and his elders. Through his own style, Gelineau has learned the traditional ways of his people and nature. He also hand-made and painted on cedar paddles, birch bark baskets, canoes and moose calls. Gelineau had been painting professionally since 1977. He has had numerous group shows in Toronto and Thunder Bay, Ontario and in Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta. His work can be found in many private collections throughout Canada and USA.
Art work is in Excellent, AS NEW CONDITION, ready to hang.
