A RCN (Royal Canadian Naval Ratings Cutlass from the turn of the 19th-20th Century, in excellent condition for its age. Virtually no rust stains on the steel parts, & blade is in superb condition, & is 28" in length.
It has various markings on the blade & hand grip & I have tried to show these in the photos. I do have more photos but am only able to post 10 on the site.

I think it was made in 1900 judging from the stamps. However, I am not an edged weapons collector altho I did collect RCN/RCN items for many years. This cutlass I acquired many yrs ago from an old collection as I wanted an example of a Victorian/Edwardian pre 1WW cutlass. I was told at the time that this cutlass came from RCN's first ship HMCS Niobe, which came to the newly formed RCN in 1910. However this may be apocryphal as he had no proof of this, but it is possible.

It would be best if you might be able to pick up this cutlass as its going to be quite expensive to post, however I can pack it up & post it if the buyer is prepared to pay the cost.
PLS NOTE - There is NO Scabbard with the cutlass, I looked for many many yrs to try to obtain one but never was able to locate one.
