I'm offering a 1988 Ford Mustang GT (Cobra – Canadian). The 5-speed car has an original 162,000kms and, previous to my purchase, had been in the same ownership for 32 years (May 1990 – May 2022). It comes with the UVIP and 2 sets of keys (with Viper alarm). The car runs, drives, shifts, and brakes. It's driven around the neighborhood side streets a few times a month (during nice weather only) and garaged the rest of the time.
THE GOOD: The oil (regular – not synthetic)/oil filter is newer, shocks have about 10,000km on them, newer Ford Racing water pump, newer Ford Racing clutch (and machined flywheel), newer transmission fluid, newer rear seal, new fuel pump, silicon sealed sunroof (stainless steel clamps), factory AC delete, original strut brace, clean shock towers, and good brakes. Additionally, the interior is in good shape for a 35 year-old used car (the headliner will need attending).
THE BAD: The windshield is cracked and will need replacing, along with windshield wipers. The power windows work but the power lock function does not. The passenger side inboard daytime running light bulb is not working, along with the fog lights. The right front turn signal isn't working (but the indicator on the dash is). The rear hatch window tint is bubbling (from the sun) and the support struts are weak. The driver side catalytic converter has a split in it under the shield, so there is an exhaust leak. The BF Goodrich TAs (225/60/R15) only have about 1000km on them but are from 2010 and starting to crack. The body is straight, but does have a few spots of rust as seen in the pictures (front left fender, rear left fender, and rear right corner where the spoiler meets the trunk). There is also some minor rust bubbling on the roof. It was repainted professionally in the factory colors during the 90s but there are a few spots where the paint has totally come off.
The engine has never been opened and the car is in very good overall shape. If you're looking for an original/unmodified late 80s Mustang GT with fairly low kilometers this might be the car for you. Foxbody parts (interior and exterior) are relatively easy to source so you won't be breaking the bank bringing it back to nice stock form.
IN TERMS OF PRICE, I'M ASKING $10,000. PLEASE REFRAIN FROM SENDING OFFERS, HAGGLING, OR TRYING TO TELL ME WHAT IT'S WORTH AS I DON'T WISH TO WASTE TIME WITH SUCH NONSENSE. IF YOU'RE SERIOUSLY INTERESTED, AND LEGITIMATELY HAVE CASH, CALL THE NUMBER PROVIDED (647-784-8162) AND COME CHECK IT OUT FOR YOURSELF.
