Now ready to find his forever home through outsourced adoption, please meet Kevin!

Kevin is an approximately 13-14 year-old male marginated tortoise. His owner is going to be moving and can't take him with them and is deeply concerned to find him a safe and good home! Currently Kevin has a shell size between 8-10 inches. Kevin has quite the personality, he loves to run around on colourful blankets (especially red). He loves to chase feet and headbutt pillows. Kevin is not aggressive per say but likes head butting, as most male tortoises do. He has once bitten his owner in a case of om nom-nom mistaken finger for food where raspberries were involved. He does have a previous medical history where he became constipated from eating his previous substrate which was "Forest Floor." He was given laxatives for about a week and it cleared up. It is recommended that a topsoil and sand mix be used instead to prevent a repeat.

Kevin is currently being fed once a day on a blend of spring mix without spinach, red pepper, cucumber, carrot tops and a few slices of carrot, topped with some soaked tortoise pellet. It is important to note a variety of safe leafy greens is important for his diet. Please be sure to show detailed research on the application! He is also fed vitamins with D3. Kevin will do best in a large 4 foot tortoise table. He will require a shallow water bowl, multiple hides as well as proper heat, humidity and UVB/UVA. These tortoises are strong diggers, so deep substrate encourages natural behaviour. Kevin's adoption fee is $100.00.

We do have to note this animal has NOT been through DVRR's facility or quarantine. By applying to adopt you accept any and all responsibility for this animal if he does need to be vet checked.

In order to take Kevin home, proof of proper enclosure is required. Please respond to this ad and we will return with the proper adoption forms and information. If you are unwilling to fill out the forms please do not bother to reply.

Kevin is located in Sundre, Alberta and you will need your own transportation to pick him up. All documentation must be filled out prior to anything to protect both parties and our animals.
