Job Overview:
Pod-Inn Hotel is looking for a reliable and hardworking House Person to join our team. This role involves general cleaning, guest assistance, and maintenance tasks to ensure that our hotel remains clean, safe, and welcoming for guests. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general cleaning duties throughout the hotel, ensuring all areas are spotless and well-maintained including but not limited to toilet, sink, walls, mirrors, tiles, desks, tables, lamps, doors and floor surfaces using cloths, mops, sponges, brushes, and, or cleaning agents.
- Strip and make beds, wash guests' linens and towels daily using the in-house laundry facilities and store them in designated closets.
- Replenish amenities, linens, and supplies in guestrooms
- Assist guests by delivering items such as irons, towels, or linens as requested.
- Support the management team in day-to-day operations.
- Respond promptly to guest requests and hotel management pages and messages.
- Provide excellent customer service, maintaining the high standards of the Pod-Inn Hotel.
- Assist with additional housekeeping and maintenance tasks as needed.
- Help maintain public areas, including lounge, dinning area, kitchen, washrooms, and common spaces in neat condition.
- Dust all furniture, pictures, drawers, window ledges and shelves thoroughly.
- Monitor and control supplies/amenities and minimize waste within all areas of housekeeping.
- Report to supervisor needed repairs or unsafe conditions.
- Report all suspicious activities or hazardous conditions to the management team.
- Remove waste bags to garbage bins located in the basement level.
Key Requirements:
- Good command of the English language, both written and verbal.
- Professional appearance and grooming required.
- Previous experience is not required.
- Must be a self-starter, able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle physical labor.
- Ability to comply with physical demands and standing for extended periods and lifting heavy loads (up to 50 lbs / 23 kg).
- Positive attitude and excellent customer service skills.
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods.
- Frequently lift and move heavy objects such as linen/garbage carts, vacuums, and mops.
- Perform repetitive wrist movements and handle cleaning tools and products.
- Must be able to climb ladders and work in tight spaces.
- Occasionally work in outdoor areas like exterior stair, subject to seasonal temperatures
