Cast bronze sculpture nude kneeling woman figure figurine mcm abstract on round wood base c1950s { Sculpture en bronze coulé, figure de femme nue agenouillée, MCM, abstraite, sur base ronde en bois, années 1950 }

Description: This sensual woman female figure figurine is kneeling with hands held behind her neck and looking off to one side. Figure is cast out of one single solid piece, so is not hollow. Gold finished bronze, likely made in a foundry. Shiny surface of figure, so likely was polished.

Wood base dark brown-red hardwood, perhaps walnut.
In the minimalist style of Haugenauer, Hollywood Regency Art and more loosely in the Modernist style of the famous mcm artist Henry Moore (1898-1986). The style strongly reminds one of the brass figures from Werkstätte Hagenauer (1898-1987, Vienna).

This piece looks very similar to a cast solid brass Hagenauer woman sculpture which only differs in that it appears to be wearing some clothing.

No maker's marks. Unknown artist. Will have to look at the base of cast metal figure to see if there are any maker marks.

Dimensions: Overall: 7.25” H x 4” W x 4” D; Figure: 6.25” H x 4” W x 3.5” D

Condition: Excellent vintage condition ( 9.0 / 10 ). Figure is attached to base only on one point, so it pivots, as a bit loose. Minor scratches to the top of the wood base.
