Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy duty and mid sized diesel trucks and trailers. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to work with various tools and equipment. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will play a crucial role in ensuring that all machinery operates efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose mechanical issues in heavy equipment, including class 8 and mid sized diesel trucks and trailers.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on class 8 and mid sized equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Assemble and disassemble machinery components as needed for repairs or upgrades.
- Operate equipment and other power tools safely while performing maintenance tasks.
- Conduct inspections to identify potential issues before they become major problems.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and parts inventory.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects and repairs.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working on heavy equipment.
Skills:
- Proven experience as a mechanic, specifically with class 8 equipment and mid sized diesel pick ups.
- Proficiency in using power tools, diagnostic equipment, and hand tools related to mechanical repair.
- Strong knowledge of on road systems and components.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during repairs or maintenance tasks.
- Familiarity with dealership standards for quality repair work is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnosing issues.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and report on repair status.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40.00-$50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
