My name is Hussein and I am an OCT certified high school teacher offering in person or virtual online tutoring (via google meet). I am currently employed by the Toronto District School Board with 10 years of teaching experience. I bring a wealth of classroom experience with high school learners of all levels, as well as a passion for teaching and student success. I have extensive experience creating curriculum resources such as handouts and PowerPoints, as well as evaluation tools that include quizzes, tests, exams, labs and assignments/projects. Additionally, I bring comprehensive experience working with students on improving their achievement levels. In an online setting, I also employ a document camera where necessary for real time handout and diagram completion.

My approach focuses first on identifying areas of strength and diagnosing areas of weakness/gaps in knowledge, then addressing the gaps by establishing strong foundational skills. I then look to challenge students to push past their comfort zones and tackle problems that may present difficulties using a lens of critical analysis that develops skills that are transferable across subjects and grade levels. With this approach, I have no doubts that I can help students
improve their knowledge and achievement in math, science, or social science courses and set them up for optimal success throughout high school and into post-secondary education.
