Looking for a Chef to run a new beachfront restaurant in White Rock.

Job Title: Chef
Job Summary:
The Chef will be responsible for overseeing food preparation and cooking in a kitchen environment, ensuring high-quality dishes are consistently produced. They will work in collaboration with kitchen staff to manage food orders, control inventory, and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation & Cooking: Prepare and cook meals according to recipes, ensuring consistency in taste, quality, and presentation.

Menu Development: Assist in creating and designing the menu, offering innovative and seasonal dishes.

Kitchen Management: Supervise kitchen staff, including line cooks, prep cooks, and other support staff, ensuring efficient kitchen operation.

Inventory Management: Order and manage kitchen supplies, track stock levels, and ensure proper storage of food and ingredients.

Quality Control: Ensure all food prepared meets safety and quality standards, including adherence to food hygiene regulations and safety standards.

Customer Service: Work closely with the front-of-house team to ensure timely delivery of meals and high customer satisfaction.

Staff Training: Train, mentor, and motivate kitchen staff to uphold the restaurant's standards for cooking and cleanliness.

Cleanliness & Organization: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including tools, equipment, and work areas.

Cost Control: Monitor and control kitchen expenses, including food waste, and help maintain the kitchen budget.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar role in a professional kitchen environment.

Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred.

Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.

Excellent leadership and organizational skills.

Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Creativity and attention to detail in food presentation.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Working Conditions:
Work in a busy kitchen environment with potential evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.

May involve long hours and physically demanding tasks, such as standing for long periods and lifting heavy items.
