Job Description:
As a Line & Tandoor Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of Indian dishes, with a special focus on the tandoor oven. You will be an integral part of our kitchen, working alongside our team to ensure that every dish is prepared to the highest standards and served promptly.
Responsibilities:
Prepare, cook, and present a variety of Indian dishes according to our menu, with an emphasis on tandoor-based items such as naan, kebabs, tandoori meats, and fish.
Operate and maintain the tandoor oven, ensuring proper temperatures and cooking techniques for each dish.
Work efficiently on the line during peak hours, managing multiple orders while maintaining a high level of food quality and consistency.
Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and ready for use.
Maintain a clean and organized workstation, following food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
Assist in developing new recipes and menu items based on seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
Keep up-to-date with Indian culinary trends and techniques.
Ensure that all dishes are prepared in a timely manner and to the restaurant's quality standards.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Line Cook, Tandoor Chef, or in a similar role in an Indian kitchen.
Strong knowledge of traditional Indian cooking methods, especially tandoor cooking.
Ability to handle the heat and pressure of a busy kitchen environment.
A passion for Indian cuisine and high-quality food preparation.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately.
Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with other kitchen staff.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Food handling and sanitation certification (preferred).
Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
