Kona is a beautiful and fun 4 year old German Shepherd.

My wife and I are devastated to be rehoming Kona. We are just about to have our first baby and found out we needed to rent out our basement suite. The two combined means that our home will be hard for this big girl to enjoy life going forward. We are wanting to find a home that she will bring joy to like she has ours.

Kona has lots of energy but is entering her adult years and that means slowing down a bit! She is sweet, loves her cuddles, loves all humans (sometimes a bit too much!), sleeps in weird ways, sheds a lot, plays balls until she lays down, and enjoys walks around the neighbourhood.

Kona is a big german shepherd (105 pounds) and can have a loud bark if there is activity outside that she hears. She loves playing with her dog friends at home or at their place.

Let me list out a few other details about her:
- Fully housetrained (but if you leave food within reach she will get it!)
- Basic Obedience Trained
- Spayed and Up to date on vaccines
- Loves humans (while we have had toddlers and babies around her and she has been good, we can't confidently speak to that environment)
- Kona is still learning proper greeting rituals for when people come over. If she doesn't greet humans outside first, she has a tendency to get overexcited and jump on guests when they come inside (proper instruction of guests to turn their back to Kona when this happens can usually solve this)
- We are unsure about how Kona is around cats
- Kona can be reactive while on leash to other dogs if they get too close (She can get a lot of frustration if she cannot run over and play with dogs that are 30 ft or less away - but, she is very responsive to training while on walks).
- Kona's current exercise routine is a 30 minute walk at lunch and 20 minutes of playing balls in the backyard. She doesn't need a lot but without this will not be happy!

All in all, Kona is a pretty fantastic dog that will make her new family quite happy. She would not do well in an environment that does not exercise her every day or is not willing to put up with a big dog in their house.

We aren't asking for money for Kona as that just feels bad for us - we just want her to go to a good home.
