We are looking for someone to accompany two individuals with disabilities to access the community and/or have social opportunities in the home. You will need to be resourceful in planning activities when needed. We are looking to help them make community connections, hook up with friends and learn all about their own city and what it has to offer. All of this while improving skills of independence.
Ideally the candidate will be knowledgeable of the city and how to use the city transit. This person should be energetic, in good physical shape and be able to plan activities that will include individuals in meaningful engagement. Things that will increase social inclusion such as connections with family and friends. As well as an increase in skills that will improve independence. If you have a good sense of humor and are easy going, then you will get along great here.

Responsibilities
-Provide compassionate caregiving and support to individuals in assisted living settings.
-Assist with daily living activities, including meal preparation, medication administration, and personal hygiene.
-Offer specialized care for individuals with disabilities
-Ensure a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties.
-Maintain accurate records of patient care and communicate effectively with healthcare teams.
-Obtain and maintain First Aid Certification to respond to emergencies as needed.
-Obtain and maintain a Criminal Record Check for the Vulnerable Sector
-Follow the Person Centered approach to caregiving in order to protect autonomy.
-You will need to have your own vehicle and a valid class 5 driver's license. You will be compensated for mileage.
-Language is a barrier so clear English is a must.
-Must work 2 weekends per month

Employment will start April 1, 2025. Rate of pay is $22/hour. Sleepovers are $16.35/hr. We will need someone for about 30-40 hours a week. Hours will be varied, as the schedule will follow the activities of each client and what they need at that time.
