About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Cleaning Specialist to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across our facility at 2465 Stevenage Drive, Ottawa. The ideal candidate will be responsible for comprehensive cleaning operations in various areas while adhering to strict quality standards and security protocols.

Compensation:
$17.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:
- Daily Operations:
- Perform routine cleaning operations between 11:30-14:30, Monday through Friday
- Conduct scheduled cleaning operations weekdays (17:00-21:00) and weekends (07:00-17:00)
- Patrol clean washrooms and kitchens twice daily
- Empty waste receptacles, replace liners, and manage recycling materials
- Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces twice daily (doorknobs, handles, railings)
- Maintain floors through sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming
- Clean glass surfaces, mirrors, and entrance areas
- Disinfect washroom fixtures and replenish supplies
- Remove stains from carpets and upholstery
- Dust furniture, fixtures, and accessible surfaces

Area-Specific Duties:
- Entrances/Lobbies: Clean doors, glass, foot grills, and floors
- Corridors: Vacuum, mop, and maintain water fountains
- Offices/Boardrooms: Clean furniture, whiteboards, and dispose of waste
- Washrooms: Disinfect fixtures, replenish supplies, and descale toilets/urinals
- Locker Rooms/Showers: Clean and disinfect all surfaces
- Kitchen/Break Areas: Clean tables, sinks, and exterior of appliances
- Garbage/Recycling Areas: Empty bins, disinfect containers, and manage waste

Maintenance Tasks:
- Replace light bulbs and tubes as needed
- Inspect and maintain emergency exit lights
- Report issues to the National Service Call Center
- Maintain walk-off mats during winter months
- Properly store and maintain cleaning equipment

Qualifications:
- Previous commercial cleaning experience preferred
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and quality standards
- Ability to safely handle cleaning chemicals and equipment
- Familiarity with WHMIS and health/safety regulations
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and perform cleaning tasks
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality work
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Security clearance to Secret level (will be conducted at contractor's expense)

Special Requirements:
- Must be available for emergency calls 24/7 with 1-hour response time
- Must wear company uniform at all times
- Must maintain security protocol compliance
- Knowledge of environmentally friendly cleaning practices
- Understanding of COVID-19 disinfection procedures
