Trade Expansion Manager

We are seeking an experienced Trade Expansion Manager to lead the expansion of our product line into domestic and international markets. This pivotal role will establish and grow our branded Chinese herbal health products division, develop distribution channels, and build strategic partnerships with suppliers and distributors. The successful candidate will leverage their international trade experience to create a sustainable business model for our product line while ensuring all operations comply with relevant Canadian and international regulations.

Position Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $75,000 - $78,000 annually based on experience

Hours: 30 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:
* Strategic Business Development
- Identify and establish relationships with key manufacturers to source high-quality herbal ingredients and finished products
- Research and analyze market trends, competition, and regulatory requirements for herbal health products in potential international markets
- Establish branding strategy, including packaging design, marketing materials, and product positioning
- Forecast sales, establish pricing strategies, plan promotion activities and prepare promotional materials
* International Marketing
- Build and maintain relationships with international distributors, retailers, and e-commerce platforms
- Develop export strategies for key international markets, with initial focus on Asia
- Negotiate international distribution agreements and manage contract terms
- Represent the company at international trade shows and industry exhibitions
- Monitor global market trends and adapt strategies to capitalize on emerging opportunities
* Supply Chain and Operations Coordinating
- Establish and manage the supply chain for our herbal product line, including sourcing, quality control, inventory management, and logistics
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations for importing ingredients and exporting finished products
- Coordinate with production partners to maintain consistent product quality and timely delivery
- Conduct logistics operations, including shipping, customs clearance, and distribution
* Financial and Administrative Management
- Manage departmental budget and financial performance, ensuring profitability
- Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable related to product sales and procurement
- Prepare regular financial analyses and reports on sales performance, market growth, and ROI
- Ensure all business operations comply with Canadian and international trade regulations

Required Experience and Skills
- Minimum 10 years of experience in international business development, foreign trade, or related field
- Proven track record in developing and implementing successful market entry strategies
- Experience managing relationships with international suppliers and manufacturers
- Strong understanding of international trade regulations, logistics, and customs procedures
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills
- Demonstrated financial management and budgeting abilities
- Knowledge of the health supplement or natural products industry (preferred)
- Experience with e-commerce and digital marketing strategies
- Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing small teams
